2 Altercation(noun) Def: A noisy dispute S:dispute A: agree The two business men had an altercation about the new product; the argument was so loud you could here it from across the street.

3 Apex(noun) Def: Highest point; summit S: tallest point A: underground building The prince had to climb to the apex, the tallest point of the castle, to save the princess.

4 Ballyhoo(noun) Def: Talk or writing that is designed to get people excited or interested in something S: pandemonium A: peace The ballyhoo was designed to get everyone excited for the game.

5 Def: Made in good faith without fraud or deceit: genuine S: authentic A: fake Grace has a coat made out of bona fide rabbit fur meaning they are authentic and real. Bona fide(adj.)

6 Caucus(noun) Def: A closed meeting of members of a group united to promote a cause, issue, or idea S: a closed gathering A: a public ceremony The church group had a caucus; only people of the church could come to this meeting.

7 Disdain(noun) Def: A feeling that someone/something is bad, worthless or low; scorn or contempt S: odium A: approval After yelling at her for nothing, Casey felt total disdain toward her teacher. 2+2=4

8 Disdain (verb) Def: To have or show a feeling of scorn or contempt S: disrespect A: respect From that day, everyone showed disdain and disrespect towards that teacher.

20 Autonomous (adj.) Def: Independent S: self regulating A: dependent Some people are autonomous, but some people are very dependent; teenagers are non- autonomous when it comes to technology.

21 Bolster(verb) Def: To support; to strengthen S: make stronger A: weaken Working out in the gym will bolster your body by improving your muscles and stamina.

22 Candor(noun) Def: honesty; sincerity S: openness A: dishonesty A good person should have candor because good people should be honest.
