7  Graduation Credit Requirement: 220 credits  Pass the CAHSEE???  Graduation Coursework Requirements:  Language Arts: 4 years (40 Credits)  Math: 2 years (20 Credits)  History: 3 years (30 Credits)  Science: 2 Years (20 Credits)  Foreign Lang or Fine Art or VAPA: 1 year (10 credits)  PE: 4 semesters (20 credits…exemptions don’t receive credits)  Health: 1 semester (5 credits)  Electives (“academic” and/or “fun/enrichment”): 75 credits  Grades of a D or higher will grant graduation credits  At this point all juniors should have at least 100 credits towards graduation  If needed, seek credit recovery options (more details to follow) 7

8  Grades of C’s or higher in ALL core subjects  Graduation requirements PLUS the following:  3 years of math (4 recommended)  Minimum math requirement: Algebra 2  Minimum science requirement: Biology + Chemistry (or Physics)  2 years (3 or more years recommended) of the same foreign language  Minimum of 1 year of a Fine Art or Performing Art (VAPA)  Maintain competitiveness by:  Taking extra and/or upper division classes  Challenging yourself to take honors and/or AP classes (however, it is always important to know your strengths and limitations)  If needed, seek grade improvement options  NOTE: There is a difference between credit recovery and grade improvement (more details to follow) 8

11  Do you have at least 100 credits?  Do your credits add up?  Have all of your summer school classes posted?  Is your goal graduating high school or meeting a-g?  Are you in need of a grade improvement plan in order to meet a - g?  Are you in need of a credit recovery plan in order to graduate on time?  If you have taken classes out of the country, make sure you make an appointment to talk with your counselor! 11

13  This is taking the place of Career Cruising  CaliforniaColleges.edu is a website that you can use in grades 6-12 to help you plan and save all your college and career preparation activities. You can review your saved goals, take assessments, and explore different career choices within Your Portfolio  One-stop location for college and career resources  College application help  Calendar reminders and guidelines for all high school grade levels  Calendar reminders and guidelines for college and testing 13

14  Step 1 Sign in (your account has already been created for you). Account name: cnusd###### (cnusd + your ID #) Example: cnusd123456 Password: MMDDYYYY (your birthday) Example: If your birthday is 5/7/98, you enter 05071998  Step 2 You will be asked to reset your password. Change your password to First Name Initial + Last Name Initial + Student ID number (i.e. FL123456)  Step 3 You will be asked to create a security question. Select one of these two questions:  In what city were you born?  What is the name of your hometown?  Answer the remaining questions on the page, agree to the terms and conditions and click on “continue.” You may now begin your first activity and your Plan of Study 14

15  Step 1 Click on the tab called “High School Planning”  Step 2 Click on the box called “Your Plan of Study”  Step 3 Click on “Create another course plan”  Step 4 Click on “Create a plan of study from scratch”  Step 5 Click on “Show all defined requirements”  Step 6 You will be asked whether you wish to follow CSU Minimum Eligibility Requirements or UC Eligibility Requirements. Decide which path you wish to follow and click “ Choose this set ” on the far right column.  The next screen will show the Plan of Study. You may add classes to begin planning for the A-G requirements. The A-G requirements are the classes you will need to take to be college- eligible. 15

16  Follow the a-g coursework  Pass the CAHSEE??  Use California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) to research careers, majors, talents, skills, etc.  Study for and take the PSAT, SAT, and/or ACT  Research specific campus information to determine a good fit  School, location, and climate  Cost  Available programs and majors  Expected outcome  Follow the graduation coursework  Pass the CAHSEE??  Use California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) to research careers, majors, talents, skills, etc.  Inquire on internships and/or volunteer work in your areas of interest (maybe work Experience)  Research specific information for your specific plan  Institution and location  Cost  Programs offered  Expected outcome 16

17  Now that you have reviewed your transcript, take the time to analyze your post-graduation options  Thursday, September 24 th, you will be attending a more specific presentation which should correlate with your post-graduation plan  Find your ID # and look for your designated location  Thursday, September 24 th  Go to your LA class first to take attendance!  Proceed to your designated location  Be prepared to receive detailed information  Actively participate during the presentation 17
