 Alaska peninsula  Balkan peninsula  Iberian peninsula  Scandinavian peninsula

 The Alaska Peninsula is a peninsula extending about 800 km (497 mi) to the southwest from the mainland of Alaska and ending in the Aleutian Islands. The peninsula separates the Pacific Ocean from Bristol Bay, an arm of the Bering Sea.

 The Balkan Peninsula, popularly referred to as the Balkans, is a geographical region of Southeast Europe. The region takes its name from the Balkan Mountains that stretch from the east of Serbia to the Black Sea at the east of Bulgaria.

 The Iberian Peninsula commonly called Iberia is the third largest European peninsula. It is located in the extreme southwest of the continent. The area is approximately 582,000 km2. There are three countries included in this peninsula - Spain, Portugal, Andorra, as well as a part of France and the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar.

 The Scandinavian Peninsula is the largest peninsula of Europe, larger than the Balkan, the Iberian and the Italian peninsulas. During the Ice Ages, the sea level of the Atlantic Ocean dropped so much that the Baltic Sea, the Gulf of Bothnia, and the Gulf of Finland disappeared, and the countries now surrounding them, including Germany, Poland, the other Baltic countries and Scandinavia, were directly joined by land.
