New Realities in the Global Church in the 21 st Century Each Sunday more Anglicans attend church in each of the separate countries of Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda than do Anglicans in Britain and Canada and Episcopalians in the US combined. Each Sunday more Presbyterians are at church in Ghana than in Scotland, and in the Uniting Presbyterian Church in South Africa than in the U.S. Each Sunday there are more persons at church in Brazil’s Pentecostal Assemblies of God congregations than the combined total of the two largest U.S. Pentecostal denominations—Assemblies of God and Church of God in Christ. Each Sunday more Roman Catholics attend mass in the Philippines than in any single country of Europe, including the historically Catholic countries of Italy, Spain, and Poland. Each week in Great Britain at least fifteen thousand Christian foreign missionaries are at work evangelizing the locals with most of these missionaries being from Africa and Asia.
