1 Have one P.E. session per week in the hall, using the SMART programme guidelines to ensure all basic skills are covered. In addition have at least one other less structured session to develop individual physical play and interaction skills per week e.g. movement to music, power walks, CATS DVD, Adult led outdoor play activity e.g. developing ball skills, team building games Develop fine motor skills through Maths and play activities such as threading, blocks, shape sorters, posting boxes and posting letters, Putting out chalk fires with the water hose / pump, brushing the teeth of a large model, People who help us jigsaws, Bandaging up teddies / dolls legs Use the story/ focus of the week as a stimulus for movement activities e.g. Crossing a road – looking left and right. Racing like a fire engine/ putting out fires using the hose. Use coloured streamers or balloons on strings to emphasis the speed and direction of movements. Develop body awareness using warm up songs/ dance/ action rhymes and songs. Measuring activities Bikes, scooters and trikes Running, climbing and jumping Sticky Kid Dance Christmas Dance for the school Christmas play Chair and standing short exercises, stretches and cool downs ICT Take action photographs of their peers. Respond to the sound beam. RE/SMSC Ask for assistance when it is needed. Reflect on their own skills and achievement and those of others when engaged in action based activities. Welsh/Curriculum Cymreig Listen and respond to basic instructions involving movement or praise in Welsh. Thinking Skills Describe directions travelled in and plan the next move. 2 ICT Skills Develop fine motor skills through the use of switches/ IPad and keyboard activities. Use of stop watch to time activities. Use of Ipad to record pupils and use as self evaluation. Welsh/Curriculum Cymreig Skills Listen and respond to basic instructions and praise in Welsh. Including counting in Welsh and positional language Thinking Skills Understand simple rules and elements of the game and apply these to different situations.
