19 Cuban Missile Crisis 5 days into the crisis, Khrushchev offered to remove the missiles if the US promised not to invade Cuba

20 Cuban Missile Crisis The US ignored the note and Soviet ships began to move closer Khrushchev sent a 2 nd letter demanding the US remove their missiles in Turkey U2 reconnaissance plane was shot down over Cuba Bobby urged JFK to address the first note and accept it. Khrushchev agreed to remove the missiles
