4 When a call is answered: “This is (name) of (facility name), THIS IS A DRILL, if it were an actual event…”

5 A tabletop is: An informal walkthrough of the plans. Not real time. A way to find areas of the plan requiring corrections [ARC]. A way to test the understanding of the plan by you and other personnel. Not intended to show any negatives or inability on the part of staff to understand the plan an what is required.

6 The GOAL is: …to have a written plan that everyone is familiar with and a plan that works!

8 Self-Evaluation What is your overall feeling of the tabletop exercise? How prepared do you feel the facility is to handle an effective evacuation and relocation? What steps do you feel should be taken to insure that the plan will insure an effective evacuation and relocation process?

9 Self-Evaluation (cont.) Do you think another tabletop is necessary prior to a functional exercise? Who do you feel [position] should be part of a tabletop exercise? Other comments

10 Your Emergency Plan should include: An organizational chart and a description of what each position is responsible for. A chronological list of what the specific position does and should be labeled to indicate the position. A telephone and fax list by category. All telephone numbers should be recorded exactly how it will be entered

11 Your Emergency Plan should include: (cont.) A copy of the emergency plan for evacuation and relocation which would contain any information that anyone assuming a position in this process would have to know. Copies of all Memorandum of Agreements Two pre designated locations should be established. An EOC [Emergency Operation Center] and a triage area should be known to all.

12 A non alarming code should be announced over the PA system when the EOC is being activated and the staff is to assume their positions. A sign up sheet where staff signs in on an organizational chart. Hand held portable radios should be assigned to staff members who have assignments throughout the building and are reporting back to the EOC. Your Emergency Plan should include: (cont.)

13 If radios are not available, staff should still report to the EOC for documentation. As reports are being completed at the triage area, a runner should bring them to the EOC for dissemination. Your Emergency Plan should include: (cont.)
