2. Prepositions  A preposition shows the relationship between a noun/pronoun to another word in the sentence  Prepositions indicate a relationship of:  location (above, below, next to, beside)  direction (down, toward)  association (as, without)

3. Prepositions  The dog sat in front of the dog house.  The dog sat in the grass.  The dog sniffed around the dog house.  The dog went into the dog house.

Object of Prepositions (OOTP)  Each preposition is followed by one or more words called the object of the preposition  The OOTP will be a noun, pronoun, or a group of words functioning as a noun  How do you locate the OOTP?  Ask what? after the preposition  Our house would be white with tall trees around it.  All of the sandwiches are served with pickles.  We sat on the rocks by the river.
