6 66 TEST SECURITY  Security is the district’s responsibility.  Absolutely NO copying of test booklet or other secure materials.  Security breaches may have:  Financial consequences for the district  Professional consequences for staff  Disciplinary consequences for students  Inform ALL district & school personnel of EOC Bio security procedures prior to test administration.

9 99 May 2012 BIOLOGY (continued) AT THIS TIME There is no IEP Exempt From Taking (APA required) status. There are no retesters.

10 10 LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENT STUDENTS  ALL LEP students MUST be tested. There are NO exemptions.  FORMER LEP students are NOT permitted LEP accommodations.  You MUST provide one or more of the following accommodations: 1.Additional time - 150% of the regular administration time: add extra time to EACH individually timed part. 2.Translate directions ONLY into the student’s native language. Translation of passages, items, prompts, and tasks is NOT permitted. 3.Use of BILINGUAL TRANSLATION dictionary, preferably one normally used by the student as part of the instructional program.  You MUST test LEP students in rooms SEPARATE from general education students.

16 16 PROCEDURES Examiners will sign out test booklets using the Security Checklist Examiners’ test boxes will contain: answer books, test books, pencils, Periodic Tables, manuals, blank irregularity reports and School Security Plan.

17 17 PROCEDURES Student Rosters will be on the top of each box. 1.Use the roster to take attendance. 2.Write down the number of the test book distributed to each student. 3.Be familiar with accommodations as noted on roster.

18 18 PROCEDURES Have students leave cell phones and backpacks in lockers or handed to examiners …no electronic devices (IPOD’s, cell phones, MP3 players, etc.) are allowed in test site. Items must be turned off!! Review testing protocol (i.e. pencils only, no talking, no food or drinks, etc.)

19 19 PROCEDURES Students not feeling well should be advised not to start the test. They can take a makeup later in the week. Examiner hands a test booklet to each student. Proctors may assist examiner in distribution of non-secure materials (answer booklets, pencils, etc.)

21 21 PROCEDURES Begin administering the test. Examiner reads aloud from the Manual, following directions as indicated. Implement accommodations as noted. Examiner and Proctor fulfill testing responsibilities.

27 27 Examiner Responsibilities Count all test booklets received from Test Coordinator. Verify the sequence of books before signing the school security checklist. May NOT read or review the test booklets or student responses in the answer folders before, during, or after the test administration.

28 28 Examiner Responsibilites General  Follows all procedures in the Examiner’s Manual  Maintains test security

29 29 Examiner Responsibilities During Testing  Distributes test booklets one by one to each student  Uses the rosters to record attendance  Administers the test  Ensures that students use only #2 pencils for all sections

30 30 Examiner Responsibilities  Maintains security during the test administration, including collecting all cell phones, MP3 players and all other unauthorized electronic devices prior to the start of testing.  Enforces the testing time requirements and displays the countdown of testing time remaining.

31 31 Examiner Responsibilities  Ensures that students are working in the correct test booklet section and answer folder section by observing the symbols at the top of each test booklet and answer folder page.  Notifies the school coordinator IMMEDIATELY of any missing test booklets and used answer folders and keeps students in the testing room until the school coordinator releases students

32 32 Examiner Responsibilities  Provides all applicable test modifications and accommodations  Completes an Irregularity Report when needed.  Refrains from coaching or providing any assistance to students other than the directions outlined in the Examiner Manual.

33 33 Examiner Responsibilities After Testing  Collects all secure test materials individually from each student.  Ascertains that no answer folders are left in test booklets.  Ensures that every student has gridded grade, form and test booklet number on his or her answer folder.

34 34 Examiner Responsibilities  Transcribes responses onto answer folders for students who require this modification.  Places all test booklets in numeric order and answer booklets in alphabetical order.  Returns test materials, rosters and irregularity reports to school test coordinator immediately after testing each morning.

35 35 Proctor Responsibilities Assist the Examiners by:  Observing students from different points in the room while the test is being administered.  Answering questions when there is a problem related to test directions.

36 36 Proctor Responsibilites  Distributing and collecting non-secure test materials (CANNOT DISTRIBUTE BOOKLETS).  Watching for students who might make extraneous marks on the answer folder  Escorting students to the restroom during breaks.

39 39 NEVER  Never abrogate the responsibility for counting or recounting test booklets.  Never distribute booklets out of numeric order.  Never borrow or lend test booklets across rooms.  Never allow students to use pen.  Never instruct students to pass test booklets up an aisle/row.
