3 The Rule of the Kings  The founding of Rome is 753 BCF. The City of Rome was founded by a man named Romulus. He and his twin brother had been up by a she- wolf. The brothers later quarreled and Remus was killed by his brother. Romulus became the first King of Rome!

5 The Republic ( 59-31 BC ) Power was the Senators ( came from wealthy Roman families elected by citizens. They wore togas with a purple stripe) Caesar (General) added days to the Roman calendar, he eventually was murdered on march 15th ( the Ides of March). Mark Anthony.

6 The Empire Emperors wore laurel wreaths and the color purple. It was treasonous for anyone else to wear purple. Octavian ( Augustus) was Ceasars adopted son, he restored peace to Rome. This was called Pax Romana
