LEGO Robotics Programming Club Welcome

What is LEGO Robotics FIRST = For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is an exciting and fun global robotics program, designed to ignite an enthusiasm for discovery of the basic principles of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in children, ages 9 to 14.

Coaches 5/6 Mrs. Susan Jernigan Mrs. Danielle Houseman 7/8 Mr. Daniel Nelson Mrs. Ruth Biggs AND YOU!!!

Each year, FLL teams of 3-10 children, embark on an adventurous challenge, based on current, real-world issues. Guided by a team coach and assisted by mentors, the children: Research and solve a real-world problem, based on the challenge theme Present the team's research and solutions Build an autonomous robot, using engineering concepts

Academic Team vs. Club

Using the yearly challenges, FLL: Entices kids to think like scientists and engineers. Provides a fun, creative, hands-on learning experience. Teaches kids to experiment and overcome obstacles. Builds self-esteem and confidence. Inspires kids to participate in science and technology.

No matter what the child’s subject interest, FLL offers an opportunity for engagement. Whether it is by creativity, technology or research, FLL dares kids to test, explore, expand, or completely change thoughts and approaches for different sciences each year.

Global Competition Each year FLL Operational Partners nominate teams from their regions who they feel best reflect the FLL Core Values. Selecting the teams to attend World Festival from these nominations was no easy task. There were many outstanding teams worthy of consideration. Below is the list of those teams who have been invited to join us in St. Louis. SAPientes, Spain Simpsons, Jordan WIT! Netherlands X-Raffles Team 3, Singapore Moderately Confused, Ohio Dunne Memorial Academy, Newfoundland Darwinchi’s Apprentices, Hudson Valley Brick Links, Oregon LEGO Lambs, Finger Lakes TechnoSurgeons, Ontario Eshkol Pais Raanana, Israel

There are 3 majors parts. Research Presentation Robot How the Robot is built How did you program the robot to move How many points did it score Gracious Professionalism

Core Values We do the work to find solutions with guidance from our coaches and mentors. We honor the spirit of friendly competition. (Coopertition) What we discover is more important than what we win. We share our experiences with others. We display Gracious Professionalism in everything we do. We have fun!
