Focuses on local arrangements for civil protection, establishing a statutory framework of roles and responsibilities for local responders Requirement to ‘put in place business continuity management arrangements’

5. Invocation of the Plan During office hours - the responsibility of an appropriate Head of Service. Out of office hours - activation is through the existing emergency response arrangements, via Barrington Street Customer Safety Support and Security, from where an appropriate Head of Service will be assigned to act as Business Continuity Coordinator

Roles and Responsibilities Business Continuity Coordinators - identify the extent and severity of the disruptive event & decide on the initial course of action to take Executive Team provide the overall strategic direction for the Council Directorate Management Teams fulfil the tactical response role and set the priorities for their respective Directorates Service Managers, who will be responsible for invoking service continuity plans and providing Directorate Management Team with situation updates.
