8 Units You will be concentrating on units up until Christmas. Measure, shape and space You will gain qualifications in these areas These will help in achieving a Functional Skill at the end of the year.

9 What should I expect from the class ILP Assessed throughout the course

10 Exams The aim is to successfully achieve a qualification upto Level 2 Functional Skill.

11 ID Cards You will be issued with an ID card once you have been enrolled onto the course. It may take a few weeks to come through. Please bring your ID card with you every time you attend the college. Security may ask to see your card from time to time.

12 Using Computers & The Library Once you have your college ID card you will be able to use the computers and the library. (Library induction) There is an IT suite in the library.

13 Refreshments Cafe Vending machines

14 Health & Safety No food or hot drinks in the classrooms (water is OK) Don’t leave bags where people may trip over them. No smoking in the college or in the college grounds. In the event of a fire leave the building quickly and calmly by the nearest exit. Wait at a designated assembly point.

15 College Code of Conduct You should treat everyone in the college with respect, regardless of their: culture, disability, gender or age. You must not access any sites on the internet that are unsuitable. The above could result in disciplinary action being taken. You will find much more detailed information in your student diary.

16 What we expect from you Be punctual Attend every week. If you miss a week without contacting the college you could be withdrawn from the course and have to start it again. If you cannot attend please ring your tutor or leave a message with another member of staff. Study at home.(Complete all homework on time) Enjoy it.

18 Mobile Phones Pleas turn your mobile phones to silent mode during the classes.
