10 Problems with Quick Decisions I am usually a slow decision-maker. Maybe you know someone like me: I like to try on everything, and then maybe buy nothing. However, last summer, I made two quick decisions. The results taught me quick decision-making doesn’t always mean good decision- making. My first decision, to buy a used laptop, led to problems with money. I had always wanted an IBM. So, when I saw an ad for a used one, I went to look at it. I shouldn’t have gone. As soon as I saw it, I fell in love, and didn’t care how much it cost. I used up my savings. Problems with Quick Decisions My second decision, to find a room-mate, brought even more financial problems. After I bought the laptop, I needed someone to help pay the rent. I posted an ad and several people called. I didn’t interview all of them and accepted the first one in a hurry. What’s worse, I didn’t ask him to sign an agreement. The guy moved out two months later, without paying his rent. I used to think I was too slow in making decisions. But now I believe it’s worth the time it takes.
