Introduction to Microsoft Donations Through TechSoup Gregory Seeley of TechSoup

The Microsoft Program Through TechSoup Microsoft is our most generous partner, but also has the most complicated program An organization can request up to 50 licenses from ant 10 of the 53 Title Groups, and up to 5 server licenses in a 2-year cycle. An organizations cycle begins with the first Microsoft request they place after July 27, 2011

Some More Important Information There is no limit on how many requests may be placed in the 2-year cycle The only limit is quantity Some organizations have multiple locations and they may be eligible to register each; please contact us to see if your organization is eligible if this is your case.

And Finally This process is a 4-step one. 1.Request the Microsoft product(s) you desire at TechSoup.org 2.Receive the fulfillment email with the Authorization and License #s and link to Microsoft’s Volume License Service Center 3.Access the VLSC and “download” the ISO image to a disc. 4.Using that disc and the Volume License Key on the VLSC install and activate your product.

Renewing Software Assurance Software Assurance (SA) benefits are good for two years and can be renewed. (Whereas, your software licenses are perpetual and will never expire.) Contact a reseller from the Microsoft Open License for Charities Resellers page.Microsoft Open License for Charities Resellers Conduct a cost/benefit analysis to determine if it is more beneficial to renew SA or request a new donation. – The cost to renew SA is approx. 1/3 the market value of the product – Renewing SA is also a good option if your license limits have been reached Important: Renew before your SA benefits for that product expire.
