1 Hap Magee Ranch Park: Bench Refurbishment Eagle Scout Project by Kenny Padden, Troop 1630

2 An opportunity for a Boy Scout to demonstrate leadership of others while performing a project for the benefit of his community. The Purpose of an Eagle Scout Project:

3 Identified Four Benches around the main meadow that were in need of refurbishment. Bench Project

4 ● Met with Mr. Teixeira on site to examen benches, potential dates, and general project plan. ● Met with BSA Eagle Board to describe project and receive formal approval to start. Approval Process

5 Dates: April 4 and April 9, 2015 4 Benches completed over 2 work days: 4 Hours Each Supplies: Generator, Power sanders, Sandpaper, Stain, Brushes, Safety Barriers, Eye Protection, Cloths, Cardboard, Extension Cords, and Food Support: Boys Scouts, Adult Scout Leaders, Family and Friends Project Planning & Support

9 Donations Cresco Equipment Rental, Danville- Free use of a Generator to power the sanders for the project on both work days. Ace Hardware Alamo Discounted rate for Eagle Project supplies.

10 ● Hap Magee Park is a popular park enjoyed by residents of Danville and Alamo. Refinishing the benches extends the life of the wood. It helps keep the park beautiful and it provides nice seating for the public. ● Each bench has a value of $2,500. (x4=$10,000) ● My Project saved the Town of Danville Time and Money for their Maintenance Department and Staff. Benefit to the Community
