2 The District Commercial Officer/Office  Specific responsibilities of DCO are derived from the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, the Local Government Act and the different sub-sectoral policies.  Is the only relevant line office for Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperative at Local government level  Is responsible for spearheading and coordinating trade, industry and cooperative sub-sectoral policies, frameworks and activities within Local governments

3  Generate your sectoral related plans and budgets to be in cooperated in the district development Plans.  Ensure a complementary relationship between the productive sectors and other relevant sectors and trade, industry and cooperative sector.  Mobilization of resources, at the district level, for implementation of the sub-sectoral policies  Coordination of the provision of business advisory services to stakeholders, particularly the private sector  Advising on the assessment and enforcement of revenue collection  Coordination of entrepreneurial skills development and business management services, and  Dissemination of information on, and advising the population on how to benefit from regional integration

5  Self-confidence is A sense of belief in yourself, in your physical, mental and emotional capabilities to handle and solve a problem. Its intangible trait that separates the winner from the rest of the crowd  Confidence building is:- Gaining the inner strength to do something and then feeling comfortable about that strength Its an act of making a decision and then acting on that decision

7  Focus on the positive things about yourself and your work. “ silver lining is in every cloud-  Explore very opportunity that you come across and contribute to others with words and action.  Self improvement. This requires self determination, accepting your weakness, seeking support on how to address them.

8  Don’t be too competitive, life is not a race against others.  Set your own standards and allow yourself to overcome challenges at your own pace.  Celebrate when good things happen to you and remind your self of your strength-this will lift you up.

9  Be present:-Go to your work place, be there, do something, do whatever is there.  Take action:- Most starting step in building self confidence is simply to take action. Go out and get busy. Act on things rather than worrying about future. “Action breeds confidence and courage”  Have a strategic direction, plan, set targets and give them time frame, it will make you looking towards achieving something. Be innovative in accomplishing your targets.

10  Prepare thoroughly for any task so that you can be sure you are ready to take it on.  Understand in what order things happen for example within local government  Lighten-up, discover your worth, contribute to others, make yourself useful, stay in lighter state of mind  Get trained, study more upgrade to match the skills required for your current job or future job.

11  Keep a good news diary-It will help to be aware of all the positive occurrences, enjoyable experiences and achievements of each day.
