1 What are the following facts about. Identify the system of the body. The heart beats around 3,000,000,000 (3 billion times) in the average person's life About 8 million blood cells die in the human body every second, and the same number are born each second. Blood that is high and rich in oxygen is a bright, healthy red, while, blood that is poor in oxygen is a dull red. Blood is never blue.

2 What are the following facts about. Identify the system of the body. Blood is ALWAYS RED, actually. Veins look blue because light has to penetrate the skin to illuminate them, blue and red light (being of different wavelengths) penetrate with different degrees of success.

3 Take your pulse 1.While sitting at your desk take your own pulse and record your answer. 2.Stand up and walk in place for 1 minute. 3.While standing still take your pulse and record. What happened to your pulse? If it did change, Why? Predict your pulse if you were to run for a minute.
