IPSF = International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation ”IPSF is the leading international advocacy organisation for pharmacy students, promoting improved public health through provision of information, education, networking and a range of publications and professional initiatives” * Official mission of IPSF

3 History Formed in London in 1949 with 8 member countries IPSF is the oldest faculty-based international student organisation in the world Has grown to represent over 350,000 pharmacy students and recent graduates from 84 countries worldwide

7 PROJECTS 1) Profession Development: Pharmacy Profession Awareness Campaign(PPAC) - Promoting pharmacy to public and other healthcare professionals Patient Counselling Event (PCE) – held during IPSF world congress. Also, locally and nationally. Clinical Skills Event (CSE) Leaders in training (LIT) program – leadership, communication, management skills

8 PROJECTS 2) Public Health Campaigns: WHO health days World TB Day 24 th March World Health Day 7 th April World No Tobacco Day 31 st May World Diabetes Day 14 th November World AIDS Day 1 st December

9 PROJECTS 3) Student Exchange Programs (SEP) Annually over 700 students worldwide participate in going on exchange or hosting students Over 40 countries actively involved The length of the exchange 1-3 months Fields of exchange: – Community pharmacy – Hospital pharmacy – Academia/Research – Pharmaceutical industry
