3 ► Frequent drainage problems due to unpaved streets with little or no slope. 3 Project Background ► City of Laramie, working closely with the Albany County School District, initiated a project to study, design, and construct drainage improvements.

4 Stormwater Drainage ► Safely convey runoff from minor and major storm events to downstream storm sewers in Monroe Street ► Detention required to meet available downstream capacity 4 Project Goals Roadway ► Pave streets in project area to move water to low points where inlets can pick up flow ► Improve pedestrian, ADA access Water Lines ► While streets are opened up, upgrade existing waterlines (upsize, PVC)

5 5 Benefits to Linford School and Neighborhood ► Improved drainage – minimize or eliminate ponding ► Not passing the problem to adjacent blocks ► Upgraded water lines ► Replacing aging pipes to improve reliability ► Improve fire protection in the area – new hydrants ► Replacing service lines (to the property line) ► Paved roads ► sidewalks, curb and gutter ► ADA access ramps ► Paved driveway approaches or rollover curb

11 11 Schedule Estimated Construction Start (Subject to Permit Approvals) ► May 2016 Sequence of Construction ► Likely start at Monroe & Johnson -- water & storm sewer installation ► work to the north ► Must install underground detention at Linford School parking lot between June 10, 2016 and July 8, 2016 ► Project substantially complete by October 1, 2016

12 Access to Residences/School ► Contractor to maintain access to driveways ► Contractor to keep at least one access to school parking lot open Temporary Water ► Contractor to provide and maintain temporary water service Work Hours ► 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday – Friday, Saturdays by City Approval only Garbage Collection 12 Resident Concerns
