What kind? We like French fries. How many? Zillon ate four sandwiches. Which one? That book is awful.

5 An adjective describes a noun or a pronoun.
Adjectives An adjective describes a noun or a pronoun. An adjective answers: What kind? Which one? How many? Example: happy dog tired boy seven girls

6 To find an adjective you need to locate the nouns first.
Three happy children played at the park. The donkey stepped on my large hat. The child was brave.

8 More Adjectives Most adjectives come before nouns, but sometimes they follow verbs and modify the subject. Example: These inventions are horrible.

9 The Articles — a, an, and the — are adjectives.
A and an refer to one thing. The refers to a specific thing. Use a with words beginning with consonants and an with words beginning in vowels.

11 Demonstrative Adjectives
The words this, that, these, and those are demonstrative adjectives when followed by a noun. Singular Plural this these that those (Near) (Far)

13 Proper Adjectives Proper Adjectives are adjectives formed from proper nouns. Follow capitalization rules. Proper Noun Proper Adjective food from Italy Italian food colony in Asia Asian colony oranges from Florida Florida oranges
