8 -T-The purchase of property does not require a specific type -N-National Visa (type D) Is more preferred when a long period of time is needed to seek for property or the applicant wishes to stay in Greece continuously (after his/her purchase) 8

9 Schengen Visa (type C) Is more preferred when a 3-month-period of stay every 6 months is considered to be enough time and he/she wants to make a new application for the next trip to Greece => the tourist Visa of Schengen is adequate 9

10 NOTES In any case, the application for permanent residence must be submitted before the VISA is expired. The applicant can apply for permanent residency via a proxy. 10

13 If the purchase has not been completed more documents are demanded 9. proof of financial standing, for instance: certificate issued by a recognized bank or other financial institution, which shows the existence of bank deposits or other securities, especially of bonds or shares, of total value € 250 000+ 13

14 10. Copy of the contract of the assignment of the Real Estate brokerage by a lawyer or a law firm which are permitted to exercise professional activity within the EU, or to an agency /company of property management with a valid license within the EU. 14

15 PURCHASE THROUGH A LEGAL ENTITY 1.Copy of the notarial purchase deed of the property, worth of minimum € 250 000 2.Copy of the statute of the legal entity from which it is accrued that the applicant is the owner of his stocks and shares. 15

16 RESIDENCE PERMIT DUE TO PROPERTY -Duration of residency: 5 years -Renewal: Possible Again for 5 years & provided that he still possess the property ownership of € 250 000 worth - Family of the owner: Have the right to individual residence permit but must apply separately. These permits are renewed and expired at the same time as the owner's does.

17 -T-The owner of the residence permit is also permitted to work in Greece? NO –but he/she can be a Shareholder Member of the Board of Directors CEO of a company -C-Can I use the time period given by the residence permit to obtain the Greek nationality? NO 17

19 -What are the advantages of the residence permit owner? 1)He/ She can stay continuously in Greece during the whole period of the time that the residence permit is valid. 2)He/ She can travel to other countries od the Schengen Area up to 3 months per semester. 3)He/ She can access to the health and education services the same way every Greek citizen can. 19

21 -How long does it take for the decision to be taken? 2 months, after the application is received by the competent authority -Is the applicant protected during the time between the submission of the application and the announcement of the decision? YES, provided that all the documents are properly completed, the authority received them and a certification of the submission of the application has been sent to the applicant. 21

22 -For how long is the certification of the submission of the application for permanent residence valid? A year -What are the rights the certification of the submission of the application provides? The owner of this certification is that he can freely travel from and to Greece, until it expires. 22

23 ATTENTION It is NOT ALLOWED to travel to other Schengen countries. This means that he must choose flights that directly connect Greece to third countries, without transiting to another Schengen country 23
