2 CCR requirements based on Senate Bill 1 (began with graduating class of 2012) College Ready (1 Point) Meets the benchmarks on the ACT in English, Mathematics, and Reading or passes either the COMPASS or KYOTE college placement tests. A student must meet benchmark in English, Math and Reading on one of the following College Placement assessments: ACT (English 18 - Math 19 - Reading 20) Compass (English 74 - Math 36 - Reading 85) KYOTE (English 6 - Math 22 - Reading 20) Career Ready (1 Point) Is preparatory (earned 2 credits and enrolled in a 3rd credit) for a CTE career major, has received either an approved industry certificate or KOSSA certificate and has met the benchmark on the ASVAB or ACT WorKeys. A student must meet benchmark on one assessment from each category: ASVAB (AFQT: 50) WorKeys (E: Silver - M: Silver - R: Silver) KOSSA (70) Industry Certificate College and Career Ready (1.5 Points) Is preparatory (earned 2 credits and enrolled in a 3rd credit) for a CTE career major, has recieved an approved industry certificate or KOSSA certificate and has qualified to be college-ready. A Student must meet benchmarks on one from each category: ACT (E: 18 - M: 19 - R: 20) Compass (E:74 - M: 36 - R: 85) KYOTE (E: 6 - M: 22 - R: 20) KOSSA (70) Industry Certificate

6 Strategies implemented in 2013-14 KYOTE and/or COMPASS testing of seniors who have not met benchmarks WIN Learning program for online COMPASS Prep Placement in RTI based on ACT, COMPASS or KYOTE Continuous monitoring of student progress on meeting benchmarks and planning how to help individual students (weekly SILT meetings) Recognizing and Celebrating when students make benchmarks ACT Saturday Boot Camp (over 50 students, 10 staff) Use of KYOTE practice tests in Bridge English and Math classes College/Career Counselor (through Race to the Top) ACT Testing strategies and content review in Junior Enrichment time (24 minutes per day) KOSSA Cram days before KOSSA testing Increased focus on guiding students in choosing Career Pathway and placement in correct classes for that pathway CCR Boot Camp held June 5-12 2014 for students to receive interventions and take COMPASS

7 Next Steps for 2014-15 All seniors not meeting benchmark on ACT are enrolled in CCR lab class in addition to regular English and Math class Additional CCR Boot Camps Students must meet benchmarks in order to Co-op, Peer Tutor, Office Aide…. Very purposeful placement in Career Pathway classes Needs-based placement for all students in English and Math classes Additional ACT Boot Camp Saturdays 7 Habits Training for all students (and staff) Focus on preparing students to be College/Career successful, not just ready
