3 Definition of a Complaint “A written or verbal expression of dissatisfaction or disquiet about the actions, decisions or apparent failings of a local authority’s adult social care provision which requires a response”

4 General Statistics Increase in overall feedback of 11.5% (2537) Decrease in complaints Large increase in comments of 35% Less than 0.6% of active cases constitute complaints Ratio of complaints to compliments has increased from 1:10.5 to 1: 13

6 Headline news Big increase in compliments for equipment and adaptations (23% to 42%) and decrease in complaints Big increase in financial compliments Decrease in complaints about social work practice, home care services and carer complaints (17% to 9%) Increase in complaints about: –residential care –from people with Physical Disabilities –assessment, care planning, review (but 70% increase in compliments too)
