2 Our Aims  Multikultúra Egyesület (Association) was founded in Budapest, on 15th April 2002, in order:  to promote the culture of the national and ethnic minorities  to provide assistance to foreigners living in our country  to ensure the rights of the foreigners and help them integrate into the society.  Our members include Hungarians as well as refugees

3 Refugee-integration projects  2003: Free legal aid for refugees and asylum-seekers  2004: Research about social integration of refugees  2004: Free translation and interpretation for refugees and asylum- seekers  2004: Teaching of Hungarian as a foreign language for refugees in a refugee reception centre; preparing refugees for the exam of Hungarian citizenship

4 Cultural programmes  2002- : Managing a musical band comprises of West African migrant musicians  Participation on Festivals in Hungary and Central Europe with concert, African gastronomy, handicraft, exhibition etc.  Organizing cultural shows and festivals about multicultural values

5 Youth projects I.:  Since 2006, we are an acknowledged sending organization in the European Voluntary Service. Since the beginning of 2006 we prepared about 40 young persons to travel abroad in the frame of voluntary projects.  In March 2008 we became an accredited host organization. The theme of our project is to organize leisure programmes for migrant children. Our EI number: 2007-HU-26 European Voluntary Service

6 Youth projects II.:  2005- : the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of ELTE University signed an agreement with our association. According to the agreement, the students taking part in teacher training can perform their „outside school practice” at our association.  The practice contains only non-formal teaching elements, and it supports the integration of underprivileged, mostly refugee children. Teacher trainees’ fieldwork
