2 About Thorpe Hall Hospice Thorpe Hall is a Grade I listed building, the best-preserved Cromwellian mansion in England Since 1991 it has been home to the Sue Ryder Hospice, providing end-of-life and palliative care services for over 7,500 people from across Cambridgeshire and beyond Patients are now cared for in a new state-of-the-art unit opened in September 2015, directly linked to the mansion Many of your colleagues and friends will have personal experience (directly or indirectly) of the incredible care provided both for patients and their extended family Annual running costs come to £2.7 million of which 50% comes from voluntary fundraising – in 2015 the hospice provided 145,000 hours of specialised, dedicated care

3 …about the hospice continued It costs £7,500 per day to run the hospice £50 pays for one session with the Family Support Team offering advice on a range of topics from financial worries to future care £100 pays for one hospice nurse for one day £500 pays for one day of hospice care for one patient £3,000 pays for one nurse for one month The Ball is being organised by a group of volunteers and supporters who have each been touched in some way by Thorpe Hall – your support is very much appreciated

4 Additional services In addition to wonderful hospice care, Thorpe Hall also provides a range of valuable associated services, including the following: Welfare support for families and spiritual care from a voluntary group of inter-faith leaders Hospice at Home… a dedicated Sue Ryder team working with Marie Curie Bereavement support… available to anyone who has suffered loss regardless of any connection with Thorpe Hall. This includes vital work with children through the Charlie Chimp Club. Kitchen garden… enables patients from Thorpe Hall and brain injury charity Headway to become involved in a community project, a wonderful form of therapy and in some cases a personal legacy after they have gone Training… for schools and businesses to help them best support students, staff and colleagues affected by the loss of a friend or relative

5 More about the Ball Date: Saturday September 24th 2016 Venue: Marquee in Thorpe Hall gardens Guests: 300+ people (tables of 10-12 named after Bond films) Theme: James Bond Licence to Thrill. A night of sophistication and celebration… ‘dress to impress’ for the social event of the year With the support and goodwill of sponsors we set the ticket price at £75 pp in order to maximise fundraising on the night… auction, casino, raffle plus a few surprises! Sponsorship will enable you to align your company with a much-loved charity while engaging with employees, customers, suppliers and business partners to reinforce your own brand values and extend the scope of fundraising
