MLA WORKS CITED  A list of all the sources cited in your paper.  Begins on a new page.  Title: Works Cited (Center Alignment, Times New Roman, 12pt, NO Bold, NO underline and NO italics!  Double Spaced  ALPHABETICAL ORDER!  Hanging indent  DO NOT use URLs in the Work Cited.  You should have a minimum of 5 sources.

Citing Sources -In MACKINVia, the source citation is located at the very bottom of the article. -For OMM: Steinbeck, John. Of Mice and Men. New York: Penguin, 1993. Print. -For Critical Viewpoints: I will provide all of these to you tomorrow. 1.Johnson, Claudia Durst. Introduction. Understanding Of Mice and Men, the Red Pony, and the Pearl: A Student Casebook to Issues, Sources, and Historical Documents. Westport, CT: Greenwood, 1997. 19. Print.

Lead-ins and Parenthetical Citations Reminder: For each quote or paraphrased line(s), you must include a lead-in and a parenthetical citation. That is, before you quote the text, you must introduce the information and after you quote the text, you must state from which source the material is included. EXAMPLES: o When George tells Lennie to “come right here an’ hide in the brush,” the reader is clued into Lennie’s past (Steinbeck 15). BLENDED OR o George must take care of Lennie: “Lennie—if you jus’ happen to get in trouble like you always done before, I want you to come right here an’ hide in the brush” (Steinbeck 15). SENTENCE OR o George says, “Lennie—if you jus’ happen to get in trouble like you always done before, I want you to come right here an’ hide in the brush” (Steinbeck 15). SOMEBODY SAYS

Block Quote Reminder: (1 Required) Sometimes the author says it better than you can. If you have a quote that is more that 4 lines after it is typed, you need to create a block quote. Block quotes: Every line is indented They DO NOT have quotation marks around them The period comes before the parenthetical citation, not after. EXAMPLE Nelly Dean treats Heathcliff poorly and dehumanizes him throughout her narration: They entirely refused to have it in bed with them, or even in their room, and I had no more sense, so, I put it on the landing of the stairs, hoping it would be gone on the morrow. By chance, or else attracted by hearing his voice, it crept to Mr. Earnshaw's door, and there he found it on quitting his chamber. Inquiries were made as to how it got there; I was obliged to confess, and in recompense for my cowardice and inhumanity was sent out of the house. (Bronte 78)

Why do you think that writers and filmmakers are interested in characters who do not see battle but nevertheless struggle during a war? Page 546 Video Clip
