2 Spanish 1 TEST (Tue/Wed) Greet someone and ask how they are. Talk about how you are doing. Say where you are from & ask someone where they are from. Say where you live & ask someone where they live. Introduce someone. Tell you are age & ask someone’s age. Tell your birthday & ask someone’s birthday. Tell time in Spanish & ask the time. Ask for someone’s phone number & give your phone number. Ask for an address & give an address.

3 Songs Los días de la semana – Days of the week Los meses del año – The months of the year El alfabeto – the alphabet Los números – the numbers

4 Listening Listen to the recording and write down what times you hear in Spanish. You will hear 6 times total.

5 Writing On a piece of notebook paper to turn in write about yourself in Spanish. Include the following: The current time and date Your name Your age Your birthday Where you’re from (state) Where you live (city) Your fake phone number

7 Spanish Speed Dating Style Greet your classmate in Spanish. You must ask your classmate the questions on your card. They must answer. You have 120 seconds. Don’t forget to say nice to meet you. Don’t forget to say goodbye at the end. When the time is up, go talk to someone else. You need to talk to at least 5 people.

8 TEST Sp 2 (Tues/Wed) Say likes & dislikes using GUSTAR (me gusta, etc.) Describe things using SER (Soy, eres, es…) Compare things using mas…que, menos…que, tan…como etc. Talk about future plans using voy, va, vas, etc. Say what you and others want to do using QUERER (quiero, quieres, etc.) Describe Reggaeton and compare it to rap in Spanish. Briefly talk about Sports in Hispanic culture in English.

9 Ir + a + infinitive To talk about your future plans: Step 1: Choose the correct “ir” verb (voy, vas, va, etc.). Step 2: Add “a.” Step 3: Choose an infinitive (the unchanged verb with an ar, er, ir on the end– hablar, correr, dormir, etc.)

10 Ir + a + infinitive Practice Do the practice sheet. Remember: yo = I tú = you él = he Ella = she usted = you (formal) ellos/ellas = they ustedes = you all Nosotros/nosotras = we

11 Querer – to want Yo quiero – I want. Tú quieres – You want. El/ella quiere – he/she wants. Usted quiere – You (formal) want. Ustedes quieren – You all want. Ellos/ellas quieren – They want. Nosotros queremos – We want.

12 Quick Write Take 3 minutes to brainstorm and then write in Spanish some things that you want or want to do using “Quiero” – “I want” plus verbs or nouns in Spanish. Write at least 8 things you want/want to do. Use Word Reference or ask the teacher if you need to look up a word.
