2 Olympic Torch Relay 16 June Olympic Torch Relay will travel through South Tyneside. A programme of events is being planned so make sure you check out www.southtyneside.info

3 Queen’s Diamond Jubilee 26 April (2.30pm) A Right Royal Knees Up. Join Leah Bell and supporting company at The Customs House for a special musical extravaganza to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee. Call – 0191 454 1234

4 Spring chickens 4 -10 June (11am-3pm). Discover the farm and herb garden blooming, learn what Anglo-Saxon farmers did and make your own Anglo Saxon style farming calendar. 8 Tai - Chi Low Simonside Community CeT'ai Chi consists of a series of slow, graceful movements, gently aiding mobility, suppleness and flexibility of the joints. Good for stress relief. 9 South Shields Walk A one hour walk along the coast. Very relaxing and great exercise too. Come along to get fit whilst taking in some great scenery and meet new friends in the process. Venue- Ocean Road Community Centre All ages welcome! Cost- Free Time- 10am - 11am Every Friday

10 Petanque in the Park It's Free, it's French and it's Fun! This game can be played by all ages and abilities, why not come along one lunchtime and give it a go? Meet at the Petanque Terrains on the Bowling Greens in North Marine Park. Venue- North Marine Park Ages- All ages welcome! Cost- Free Time- noon - 2pm Every Monday and Wednesday

11 Zumba Zumba is a fusion of Latin and international music that creates a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness system. The Zumba workout provides fitness benefits because its routines feature interval training sessions with fast and slow rhythms and resistance training, which are intended to tone and sculpt the body while burning fat.
