PURPOSE To enable coaches to take squash to schools. By going to the schools it makes it easy for the school as they don’t have to organise transport to a squash centre Allows coaches to get to remote regions of the country who don’t have access to squash courts Can be used as a marketing tool at events Novelty factor of the ‘bouncy castle’ effect adds more fun to the session

COURT DESIGN Court Dimension (Blown Up) Length = 5m Width = 4m Height = 3m Weight Court = approx 90kg Blower = approx 17kg Court Dimension (Storage size, cylinder shape) 1.5m long, 600mm diameter

COURT SET-UP The courts are rolled up and stored in bags, simply take out from the bag, roll out, then fold out. On each side of the court there are zips, these allow for faster deflation (courts will inflate even if open although at much slower rate) The blowers attach to the front wall of the court, allow at least 1m behind court for space for the blowers and extension on court Courts inflate in roughly one minute. Set up process for 2 courts takes approximately 25 minutes (efficiently using 2 people. 1 person can set the court up) Blowers must remain on whilst the courts are being used

PACKING UP Before switching blowers off, make sure there is no equipment inside and that students are clear, the walls are heavy. Unzip both zips on each side of the court After switching blower off, pull back tube down so that the side walls fall and meet each other in the middle. The front wall should fall straight on top of the walls to make a neat square. (keep zips open) Fold the back up to half way, then fold the front down to half way, then pull one side on top so that its folded into quarters. This will help push more air out (can walk up and down to flatten out more. Start rolling the court up, this will keep pushing air out so that it fits nicely into the bags. Packing up takes roughly the same time as setting up.

YOUR KIT Recommended equipment to carry with the courts Trailer or ute to transport courts Extension lead and heavy duty power box Tape and cones (tape down cords, cones and tape behind courts for safety reason so students don’t get to close to people playing Coaching Equipment Mini Squash Rackets ‘Big Hand’ foam coaching balls ‘Big Hand’ Hands and Balloons Prizes, kids love prizes!

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Try not to run the courts all day off the power boards. The motors draw a lot of power causing the boards to heat up. We have experienced the boards cutting out on hot days(especially with 2 courts running). Try to avoid the courts getting wet, the material absorbs a lot of water making it hard to dry out and the courts become a lot heavier The ball will occasionally come out of the court, so cones and tape come in handy keeping students back from the edge of the court, Try to keep it to 2 people at a time in the court, minimise the chance of someone getting hurt

PROGRAMMING THE COURTS For the following age groups we recommend the following programs with the courts PP-yr2 BIG HAND PROGRAM ** Yr2/3-4/5 MINI SQUASH, skills based ** Yr5-7 MINI SQUASH Games based Warm-up games used outside of the courts, followed by some skills practice and familiarisation outside of the courts so everyone gets a chance. Moving onto the courts about half way through the session ** each school and country area will be different. Warm-up games and skills are a good indication as to what program is suitable.
