19 Additional Course Selection Information Due to scheduling constraints, students will most likely get at least one of their alternate classes. If space is needed for more academics, world language, or music courses, students may wait on Speaking/Listening elective, Health and/or PE. All course requests are final as of June 15 th. After that date, students may not request schedule changes.

22 Additional Information Students must enter their course requests on Career Cruising. There are directions on the back of the course selection sheet. Print the list of submitted courses and sign the top of the page. The printed course selection list from Career Cruising is to be turned in to the middle school on the assigned date.

23 Application Courses Honors English 9 (1.0 credit) Leadership (0.5 credit) Journalism Yearbook (2.0 credits) Applications are due with course selection sheets. Student may not select the application course within their 8.0 credits. Select something else and write a note saying what should be dropped if you get accepted into the course.

25 Modified Block Scheduling 90 minute “block” classes have final grades every 10 weeks. 43 minute “skinny” classes have final grades every 20 weeks. (Progress grades will be reported at 10 weeks). All students still have 8 credits each year.

Information will be available this summer on the LOHS website with specific dates for: Freshmen Registration (Parents & Students) Info Snap - You will receive an email about online registration from Lake Orion Schools. Get your schedule, locker, school picture and ID. Freshmen 1 st Day (Students only) Ride the bus. Shortened school day, meet teachers.

32 Thank You! If you have questions about scheduling courses, counselors will be in front of the main office. Representatives from each department will be in the Commons to answer curriculum questions. A variety of clubs/activities/sports are also in the Commons to explain how you can get involved at Lake Orion High School!
