2 The Fronter Platform includes a wide range of tools, grouped into 5 functional areas: Learning and Teaching Personal work&Portfolio Collaboration&Communication Publishing Setup&Administration. Where schools are making use of the relevant Fronter tools, the information can be made available to parents. With a unique username and password, parents or guardians of students can login to Fronter and access specified areas, tools and information. This access is decided by the school, and can include the following: Parents can access their child ‟ s portfolio and absence records, to better monitor their childs progress, participation and behaviour at school. Parents can also access different rooms, where they can take part in discussions, access school information, and complete school surveys and tests.

4 Main features: Fronter is a virtual school building, structured into rooms. Each room is has the tools required to empower the collaboration and learning activity in that room. The room owner invites members and gives them rights to see and do what they need as a learner, teacher, parents or administrator. Fronter contens a wide range of easy-to-use tools for learning and collaboration online. There about 100 different tools in Fronter. Some of the tools available in this platform: E- mail - My contacts - My calendar - My resources – online contact -statistic 1. E-mail can be sent directly from within Fronter, and is integrated with the contact database.

5 2. My contacts - Personal contacts and friends All users can generate their own private contact list within Fronter 3. My calendar - personal appointments and meetings All users in Fronter have their own personal calendar. The calendar is available in their personal toolbar, and can be shared with other users 4. My resources - Personal content folder functioning as a network-based hard drive. All users have a My resources tool in their personal room where they can store various types of documents and files 5. Sticky in Fronter as an alternative to email, we can use Stickies and internal messaging tool to individuals and groups.
