Background  Began his acting career while studying economics at Eureka College  broke into show business as a sportscaster at a Des Moines, IA, radio station, and from there assumed the position of play-by-play announcer for the Chicago Cubs.  By the mid-'30s, he relocated to Hollywood, signing with Warner Bros.  In 1954 he began an eight-year stint as the host of the television series General Electric Theater

Continued…….  On March 4,1952 he married actress Jane Wyman from 1941-48  He had four children, Maureen and Michael (with Wyman) and Patricia and Ron Jr. (with Nancy Reagan)...  They where both having problems..no one knows the exact reason why but many say it was because of politics and his acting career  Others say that it was trauma in June 1947 when Wyman gave birth four months prematurely to a baby girl who did not live  Reagan was the first president ever divorced

Reagan on TV shows  Made his debut on channel 7, December 1950 as a detective on CBS AIRLyte Theater adaption of an Agatha Christie novel.  Did a dozen appearances over the next four years  Biggest hit came later on when MCA acquainted him with G.E theater.  Hosted a popular Sunday evening show from (1954-62) starring in thirty- four episodes  1964, he began a two-season stint as host of Death Valley Days

Reagan gets shot  On March 30, 1981  John Hinckley Jr set out to win Jodie Fosters heart “ the greatest love offering in the history of the world”  25 year old attempted to assassinate Reagan outside Washington Hilton hotel  He was shot under the left arm, the bullet malfunctioned and failed to explode on impact, seriously wounding but not killing Reagan
