3 3 Context  Italy is home to many successful business ventures which constitute the internal engine of its economic system and which are based on the concept of creativity and entrepreneurship  This phenomenon spans across several industries, from fashion to interior design, from food to retail  Most of Italy most successful entrepreneurial companies have been substantially influenced by three kinds of skills/competencies: –how “creative” business opportunities are identified and built into real companies –how resources are matched with creativity and opportunity  Today there is not a training programme which is able to formalize and transfer these competencies  That’s why Multimedia Campus – University of Pavia has decided to develop a Master Programme entirely devoted to the issues of creativity and entrepreneurship

5 5 Objectives and target students The Master in Creativity and Entrepreneurship aims at providing students with the analytical tools and business ideas needed to launch a successful venture and to sustain its growth in the long-run Target: outstanding, creative and highly motivated students willing to undertake an entrepreneurial career by pursuing innovative opportunities

7 7 Curriculum The Master’s curriculum is composed of two building blocks, providing a unique mix of theory and real-life analysis Teaching methodology combines online and classroom learning, giving students high flexibility and personalization Business foundations and functions 6 months Online interactive learning anytime and anywhere In-depth business simulations and cases 3 months Classroom learning at University of Pavia +

9 9 Curriculum: three specializations  During the residential period students will have the opportunity to choose among 3 specializations: –Food and tourism –Fashion and design –Retail and innovative services  Specific case situations, business simulations, visitors’ experiences and real business opportunities are presented for each specialization

11 11 Didactic methodology Online learning is based on multimedia interactive courses which are easily accessible through the internet:  Slides, images and animations support the audio-video lesson taught by academic professors  Exercises, tests and simulations mark crucial points of the learning path  Didactic materials to print out  Glossary, bibliography and links are useful to gain additional insights  Real-time updates are posted on the Master’s website  Discussion areas (forum, email messaging, …) help students to share their ideas and opinions [Online learning]

12 12 Didactic methodology Classroom learning takes place at University of Pavia and is led by its world-renowned faculty:  Case situations from the point of view of the entrepreneur rather than the passive investor  Business simulations with high interactivity between the students and the instructor  Many cases and simulations are led by visitors (Italian successful entrepreneurs), who give the perspective of the entrepreneur who must understand and lead an entire enterprise  Real business opportunities drawn from Italy are offered to students, who are encouraged to transfer them to their home countries. In this case, ongoing support is provided to them after they return home [Classroom learning]

14 14 Additional resources and services During the residential part of the programme (three months) additional resources and services are provided to students:  Student’s visa  Housing in one of the best University of Pavia’s residences  Italian language course 2 hours/day  Three cultural weekend trips to Venice, Florence and Rome led by professional guides

16 16 Strengths and unique features  Highly specialised programme, with a unique mix of theory and real cases  Real opportunity of transferring successful ideas from Italy to foreign countries  Networking with top Italian entrepreneurs, with ongoing support provided after the programme  Flexibility, thanks to the blended (online + classroom) methodology: students need to leave their countries only for the three months  Didactic quality guaranteed by University of Pavia, one of the oldest in the world
