2 Someone said I should think about Petrochemical but I don’t want to work in some factory. I want to make a difference in people’s lives. What kinds of jobs do I look at? JOB SEEKER I liked science classes and used to love the chemistry set my parents got me. Although I think they were sorry when I one of my experiments stained the carpet in my room. But it was cool! What about something like that? STUDENT I heard Oil and Gas is doing a lot of layoffs so I’d like to steer clear of that. What are some other career options? JOB SEEKER I really liked the little machine sets I used to get as a kid. I’m curious about the machining program. What can you tell me about the program and the job? What kind of career will I have in the long run? STUDENT

4 I don’t want to work at a desk all day. I get bored and restless when I sit still. What kind of career should I look at? JOB SEEKER A friend of mine went into welding, she likes it and I’m a little curious. What can you tell me about the program and the job? What kind of career will I have in the long run? STUDENT A friend of mine said there was opportunity for growth in Petrochem. But where do I start? JOB SEEKER My high school teachers told me I should think about engineering. What can you tell me about the program and the job? What can I do with the degree in the long run? STUDENT

6 I’d love to go to school for 4 years and get a good job. But I have to help my family now and can’t wait that long to start making decent money. What can I do that will get me working for a good salary soon? JOB SEEKER My dad was a machinist and I liked to see the parts he would make out of piece of metal. I might want to do something like that. What kind of jobs I can get that are like that? What kind of education do I need? STUDENT My spouse works 9-5 and I have a baby at home and have to take care of him during the day so I need something that’s not 9-5. But I don’t want to work in fast food or something. Isn’t there something else I can do? JOB SEEKER I don’t want to work at a desk all day. I get bored and restless when I sit still. What kind of career should I look at? STUDENT

8 I have some experience as a mechanic. But I’d like to work somewhere that I can work my way up the ladder. Any ideas? JOB SEEKER Someone said I should think about Petrochem but I like the idea of working for a company that cares about the environment. That doesn’t sound like Petrochem to me. Help me understand what they meant. STUDENT My friend works in a plant makes loads of money. I know he didn’t go to school for 4 years. How do I get a job that pays a lot without going to school until 2020? JOB SEEKER I heard you can get a job that make tons of money without having to get a 4 year degree. Is that true? How do I do that? STUDENT

10 I wasn’t really happy in the last few jobs I had. I’m thinking of changing careers but I can’t go back to school for years. How do I get into a different career without going to school forever or starting at the bottom making minimum wage? JOB SEEKER My friend went for 4 years, graduated a year ago and still doesn’t have a job. What do I do so I don’t end up like that when I graduate from school here?
