3 National Tests National Tests are conducted each year at the end of each Key Stage. This gives rise to annual test results for each key stage. These tests have now been in operation for a number of years and trends in performance over years supports our analysis of performance, as well as each year’s results.

4 Test Results in 2004  Headlines –We are very pleased to announce that South Tyneside schools have performed well at KS1, KS2 and made good progress in many areas of its GCSE (KS4) results –At KS2 we have made particularly good gains in English attainment, and have been praised by the Minister for School Standards for achieving a top position nationally in this area.
