3 History Key Stage 1 and 2 Pupils should have the opportunity to: Study an aspect of history or a site dating from a period beyond 1066 that is significant to the locality Key Stage 1 pupils should be taught about significant individuals who have contributed to national and international achievements Alternatively aspects of World War I can be covered by adopting a cross-curricular approach that might focus on developing pupils literacy skills and promoting the creative curriculum (Art, Music, Design Technology, Computing) Planning a World War I project
