14 o National Chung Hsing University was the only university in Central Taiwan awarded funding as part of the Ministry of Education’s “Aiming for the Top University Plan”. Funding ranges from NT$ 300 to 450 million (around USD 1 million to 1.4 million) annually from 2006 to 2016. o NCHU was ranked among the top of global institutions in terms of article citation rate in seven disciplines: Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, Plant & Animal Sciences, Materials Science, Chemistry, Biology & Biochemistry, and Clinical Medicine. 18 Four Experimental Forests & Two Farms  Hui-Sun Forest (Nantou)  Hsin-Hua Forest (Tainan)  Dong-Shi Forest (Taichung)  Wen-Shan Forest (Taipei)  Wufung & Wuri Experimental Farms (Taichung)

19 Hui-Sun Forest is the biggest one among four experimental forests. It is about 7,477 hectares. Its purpose is to facilitate faculties and students carrying out their research and experiments. Most areas are natural forests with about 2,000 plant species. A hot spring hotel was open at the Forest Station in 2010 February. Hui-Sun Forest
