14 STUDENT SUCCESS INITIATIVE 2016: EHSE; LEBA; OLT CUC100 Academic Literacies through Exploring Sustainability 1.Apply skills for learning and communicating at university. 2.Read, critically analyse, and discuss ideas and issues presented in spoken and written texts across a range of academic genres. 3.Identify, access and effectively utilise relevant and credible research. 4.Organise and present convincing written arguments which are well substantiated and take into account a variety of perspectives regarding sustainability. 5.Present written and verbal assessments according to academic conventions, including; correct structure, academic voice, referencing and a professional layout. 6.Explore and analyse fundamental concepts and issues relating to sustainability and sustainable development.

Help was readily available.” “The important knowledge and experience that I have learn from this unit was how to tackle the challenge as an university student and respect and share the ideas with people from different cultural background.” “ I really enjoyed attending classes and felt the experience and knowledge has been beneficial in many aspects of my daily life and future.” “I had pulled out of this subject 2 times previously, thinking it would be a drudge or an unnecessary albatross around my neck (in comparison to other nursing subjects), but it turned into something that was quite engaging, and a timely reminder of the cultural elements in everyday interactions. Could also have fun in this subject, which is always a relief.”

VET students exposed to the CU program had a higher GPA than those who didn’t CU’s satisfy goals for preparing students for uni
