3 Animal welfare Ensuring animal welfare is a human responsibility that includes consideration for all aspects of animal well- being, including: proper housing, management, nutrition, disease prevention and treatment, responsible care, humane handling, and, when necessary, humane euthanasia.

12 Strategies for Integrating Animal welfare in Veterinary Curriculum Animal welfare aspects are covered in many courses of Veterinary curriculum.( All Arab Veterinary Faculties up to Date!) Animal Welfare should be given as independent course ( Under consideration at Jordan University of Science and Technology)

13 The Role of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in AWF 1. Giving Knowledge, skills and positive attitude toward animals. 2. Teaching 2 university elective courses for non veterinarian students: a- Animal Health b- Care of Pet Animals 3. Providing veterinary clinical services for farmers at very low fees at Veterinary Health Center at JUST

14 The Role of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in AWF Cont. 4. Field extinction and clinical services for Poor farmers 5. Workshops for farmers and for veterinarians 6. Research on Animal Production and Diseases 7. Participating in several committees related to Animal health at National, regional and international levels

15 Future Vision 1. Revision of Veterinary Curriculum at JUST is done every 5-6 years. The new revised curriculum would be implemented within 1-2 years 2. Integrating Animal welfare in the revised version of Veterinary Medicine Curriculum 3. Participating with other related organizations to revise and implement legislations related to animal welfare

16 Future Vision 4. Expanding the activities of the Veterinary Health Center ( This needs financial support). 5. Increasing the number of workshops on Animal welfare for the community and veterinarians
