From 2012 Q2 onwards: multi-mode common main control board is available; for each box, only 4 types of daughter boards support 2.5Gbps data throughput and 1500CNBAP/s signaling capability
From 2013 Q2 onwards: common baseband board is available; for each box; only 2 types of daughter boards support 5.0Gbps data throughput and 3000CNBAP/s signaling capability
In the future, BBUs will evolve to CloudBBs with a universal platform for baseband and main control as well as software configuration to support multi-mode; software and hardware will completely decouple for resource sharing and capacity on demand
