7 Advocacy Funding McCleary & Paramount Duty Resolution Purpose is to raise awareness of the need for Washington State to fund basic education and call upon our elected officials to swiftly fulfill the paramount duty Crafted by Network for Excellence in Washington Schools (NEWS) Resolution does not tell legislators how to meet the Paramount Duty, but simply requests that they finally do

10 Presidents’ Report Mission: To create and foster opportunities that enrich and support our children, school and community. Goals: 1.Expand and maintain our volunteer base and offer meaningful volunteer opportunities to individuals and families within our community. 2.Support Grand Ridge students, staff, and parents through purposeful fundraising, volunteering and advocacy. 3.Create and sponsor experiences that encourage broader social connection and cultural awareness within an environment of respect and kindness. 4.Enrich the education of our students in art, literacy, health and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) through volunteers and financial support. 5.Promote, attain, and support 100% PTSA membership. 6.Maintain effective lines of communication within our school and community. 7.Advocate effectively for the education, health, and safety of our children, in partnership with other members of our community.

17 Programs Cultural Club is Back! – Starts this Thursday in P9 Reflections art on display – Reception Thursday @ 6:00 pm Art Docent – Meaningful Art Curriculum in each classroom every month Grizzly Guys – Recess 4 th Friday of the month Grizzly Patch will resume in the spring

18 Outreach Gifts From Gilman – Collecting through Monday, December 7th Holiday Toys and Warm Clothing Drive to support Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank Drop off box near the office Parent Education offerings coming in January and Spring- watch for Emergency Prep session and social topics Staff Appreciation committee Keeps the delicious surprises coming!

19 Nominating Committee Article 5, Section 5 of the WSPTA Uniform Bylaws require the formation of a Nominating Committee. The duties of the committee include submitting to membership a signed, written report at least 15 days prior to the next BOD election of the name of one or more candidates for each office to be filled. Qualifications for Candidates Committee shall consist of at least 3 members elected at a General Membership Meeting. Members of the committee shall have been members in good standing for at least 30 days preceding the election. No member shall serve more than 2 consecutive years. Neither the president or school principal is eligible to serve. Only members of the local unit shall be eligible to vote for or serve on the committee.
