Start at the beginning -  Activate State Volunteer Coordinator  Open Volunteer Hotline 800-228-4544  Prepare volunteer messaging  Conduct stand-by notifications for local gov’t volunteer operations/coordinate with LOFR  Monitor the public’s desire to volunteer  Establish Volunteer Unit  Brief UC/Planning

11 Next steps -  Use/highlight pre-trained/affiliated volunteers  Establish volunteer management system  Outreach to NGOs  Identify volunteer tasks/training/locations  Coordinate volunteer tasks/location(s) with local government Thriving In The First 96 Hrs.
