2 I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand. Confucius This workshop gives you an opportunity to explore the key aspects of today ’ s lead lecture on Making inclusion happen. This session also acts as an introduction to your next PS module in Year 2 on the subject of inclusion.

3 Workshop activity instructions On your table you have 3 packs, and a set of white handouts for you to write on. PLEASE DO NOT WRITE ON THE COLOURED PAPER IN THE PACKS. In pack 1 you need to complete the activities in numerical order. Each pack contains 2 activities for you to complete as a group. The activities are designed to develop your thinking around the following areas:

4 Workshop activities: Pack 1) Activity Pack: Intelligence Pack 2) Activity pack: Family and Community, the individual as a learner Pack 3) Activity Pack: Social relationships (linked to behaviour management)

5 Evaluation Divide the large paper you have been given into three columns (see next slide for column headings). Having completed the activities write on the large paper 2-3 key points that are going to influence your practice as a classroom teacher.

9 Pack 2 Effective learning The learning culture Family and community Social relationships Health and well being Neurological factors Intelligence The individual as a learning Purpose: The activities in this pack are designed to develop your thinking about: partnership with parents; the importance of pupil voice.
