INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED ICONS TOURISM The Significance: Great South Coast region boasts a diverse range of nature-based, Indigenous & heritage tourism attractions Great Ocean Road attracts: -More than 7 million visitors annually – projected to rise to 10 million by 2030 -2.2 million domestic overnight visitors annually (22% market share of all domestic overnight visitors to regional Victoria) -7.2 million domestic visitor nights (2.2 million visitors @average length of stay of 3.3 nights) -160,000+ international overnight visitors – 50% of all international overnight visitors visit the Great Ocean Road region. An Economic Driver: Great Ocean Road generates more domestic tourism expenditure ($1.3 billion) than any other region in Victoria Tourism in the Great South Coast is estimated to support 2,600+ direct jobs
