8 The ICT Competencies Framework is a tool that helps teachers identify their level of maturity in the use of ICT. It offers a structured route for reviewing and improving the use of technology. It has a set of descriptors that enable you to see where you can make your ICT use more effective.

9 STEP 1 -- Initiation The school identifies dedicated ICT coordinators through whom the process will be implemented. The ICT Competencies Framework is understood and initiated by the ICT coordinators.

10 STEP 2 -- Analytical Survey A survey will be conducted by an analyst team, based upon the ICT Competencies Framework descriptor response. The survey will involve teachers, management and resources available in the school.

11 STEP 3 -- Defining an action plan With the goals, budgets, timelines defined and the findings of the survey, a customised action plan will be finalised. The action plan would detail phased implementation and a road map which for ICT implementation. The action plan will take into account the existing resources in the school and ensure that their potential is fully realized.

30 STEP 6 -- Continuous Monitoring To ensure that there is no deviation from the goals set, continuous monitoring will be done to review the performance of the school including the optimum usage of the resources deployed and the capacity building of teachers. Guidelines for such monitoring activities to be conducted will be positioned as per the school requirement.

31 STEP 7 -- ICT impact Audit A year end audit will be conducted. This will include an audit of: a. Resource deployment by the management b. Resource usage by teachers c. Achievement of ICT integration goals d. Pervasion of best practices e. Skills development of students through ICT intervention in the teaching and learning.

33 STEP 7 -- ICT impact Audit (Cont.) The ICT Audit will sum up and decide for the management whether ICT integration and technology usage in the school has made an impact on the teachers and students. The ICT Audit will also lay the groundwork for future roadmap to be deployed by the school.

34 STEP 8 -- Pilot programmes During the course of the year few educational tools and softwares may be piloted in the school. This enables better decision making by the management with respect to the type of resources to be deployed in the institution at a later date.
