12 According to….. Reserve Forces Policy Board RC members cost between 22% and 32% of AC service members over their lifecycle Department of Defense Director of Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) An RC brigade costs about 24% of the AC brigade when not mobilized. Army/RAND One RC unit costs, on average, just 28.7% of an AC unit when not mobilized** **This is an important data point to note. This finding that the Army’s average reserve component unit costs 28.7% of its active component counterpart is consistent with the findings published in a report by the Reserve Forces Policy Board. The Army agrees! WHY THIS IS IMPORANT: This is the cost analysis basis on which forces should be built because this is the cost to maintain them over the long-term. (When Not Mobilized) 21 What does the Guard cost?

15 Florida National Guard 2015 Legislative Initiative 125 Fighter Wing Fire Rescue Station Florida National Guard 2015 Legislative Initiative 125 Fighter Wing Fire Rescue Station 30 personnel are assigned to provide fire crash rescue and structural fire support for $800M in military aircraft (F-15s and C-26), 1,100 personnel, and over 350,000 square feet of facilities. Also supports Jacksonville International Airport crash rescue. Current temporary facility was never intended to remain a permanent fixture and is not equipped for 24-hour operations. Prefabricated buildings are half the required size. Required equipment that would normally be stored within the facility is stored throughout the base area. New Air Force fire department vehicles are now too large for the vehicle bay area. Request $7M for FY15.

16 Florida National Guard 2015 Legislative Initiatives Offensive Space Control Squadron Facility Florida National Guard 2015 Legislative Initiatives Offensive Space Control Squadron Facility FY13 NDAA designated the 114 th Range Operations Squadron as an Offensive Space Control Squadron (SPCS) Mission is to conduct space superiority operations in support of global and theatre campaigns. Current facility at Patrick Air Force Base is not suitable for new mission. Given the new mission requirement, a pad area with an unobstructed view of the southern horizon is required Request $6.1M for FY15
