Team Self-Regulation?? If your team is sensational, what could be the criteria for an analysis of your efforts eg –Degree of initiative / creativity? –Substantive listening? –Level of engagement?

The Overview You have been chosen to take part in a very exciting challenge. A major toy company has approached you, and asked you to develop an innovative new toy for the world market. You also must be prepared to work in a small team when you design this amazing new toy.

Some details for you This new toy must have the following: –It must be highly technological –It has to be fun to use –It must appeal to people of all ages –It needs to be easy to use –It has to be reasonably cheap

Step 1. Design your new toy. Here’s one strategy that you can use to come up with ideas for your toy: 1. The BAR strategy –Bigger –Add –Replace

And here’s another strategy you can use 2. It’s called the Ideas Matrix. To use it, just fill in the sections with combination products: LaptopMobilePrinter Chocolate Wristwatch Spoon

Step 2: To work with your team We’re going to use a strategy called Discuss: Publish: Shop: Refine 1. Discuss: In your team, brainstorm lots of ideas 2. Publish: Agree on a toy, and draw it on one of the large sheets 3. Shop: Go and look at the other team’s ideas 4. Refine: Come back and improve yours

Team analysis Brainstorm on your team’s efforts with a 2Q –Q. 1. What did we do well? –Q. 2. What could we have done differently? Now, revisit your criteria, and critically evaluate your work by responding to each of those criteria Congratulate each other on your work!!
