3  Transcendentalism is an intellectual movement that emphasized the dignity of the individual and the importance of living a simple, mindful life. What is transcendentalism?

9  Henry David Thoreau Thoreau was somewhat of a ‘common man.’ He was not as formally educated as Emerson was, but he was a huge fan of Emerson’s works. Famous Thoreau Works: -“Walden Pond” -“Civil Disobedience”
