16 Plymouth Argyle Football Club BTEC Sports Tutor Job Title: BTEC Sports Tutor Salary: Hours: 30 hours over 5 days Holiday: 28 days to include bank holidays, pro-rata to number of days worked and leave year 3.75 days from 1 st September until 31 st December 2015. Location: Plymouth, 5 days per week Job Description: The role as Sports Tutor will be to deliver and manage Vocational Qualifications including BTEC’s, vocationally related qualifications and NVQs in Sport. Tutors will teach the qualification through sport, most notably the medium of football, as part of the "Football Development/Scholarship programmes" for students aged 16-18 years, offered in partnership with the Argyle Community Trust and Further Education establishments. The role involves working with learners on a group and/or one-to-one basis, delivering all aspects of the qualifications in a variety of subjects and levels. Key Duties will include: Teacher/Learner Management Researching and developing new topic areas, courses and teaching materials whilst maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge Teaching large and small groups of learners from a range of background and abilities Marking work, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining records of learners’ progress and development. To record all learner evidence in line with schools’, trust and awarding body requirements Setting and overseeing examinations and liaising with the relevant body to ensure quality standards are met. Ensure all learners are progressed in a timely manner through their qualification adhering to schemes of work Keep key stakeholders updated on learner progress Carrying out a pastoral role as a personal tutor to learners Planning additional support for learners as necessary Representing the Community Trust at parents’ evenings, taster days, open days and careers or education conventions. Interviewing potential learners and conducting diagnostic assessments as necessary Manage learner behaviour and applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of unacceptable behaviour Organise work experience and carry out learner assessments in the workplace, as appropriate.

17 Quality Undertake regular teaching observations and participate in in-service training as part of continuing professional development (CPD) Attend team meetings to monitor, review and evaluate relevant courses Liaising with colleagues, line manager and other educational professionals To understand fully the national standards for each qualification Regular communication with coaching staff in terms of student progress Administration Promotion and marketing of courses To familiarise yourself with client’s policies and procedures To meet all course and general administration requirements such as, but not limited to;  Management and reporting of student attendance and behaviour  Update qualification Tracker Sheet  Learner reports in line with school requirements  Ensure all Health & Safety checks are completed  General course administration Other Working on games programmes as and when required throughout the academic year Assessment and treatment of injuries during the academic year Delivery of practical modules relevant to the sports programme, for example, strength and conditioning, weight training, rehabilitation Work on other trust related provision as and when required, given reasonable timescales

18 Essential skills, knowledge & qualificationsDesirable skills, knowledge & qualifications  A passion for sport and commitment to sport and education  Ability to motivate and inspire learners of all abilities to enjoy and learn through sport  A sports specialism that relates to the department’s programme delivery  Over 1 year’s previous teaching or tutoring experience  Minimum of 1 year’s experience of delivering the curriculum with vocational and/or educational establishments  Relevant teaching qualification or working towards e.g., DTLLS, PGCE, QTLS.  Ability to deliver the curriculum independently  Ability to provide appropriate lesson plans that meet the needs of the learners and contract requirements  Ability to provide appropriate lesson resources that meet the needs of the learners and contract requirements  Ability to work autonomously  Ability to independently manage learner performance and behaviour  Previous experience in managing key stakeholder relationships  Ability to mark and assess learners’ work to required standards set by provider and in line with contract requirements  Maintain high standards of work output with regards to required administration set out in contract  Ensure Quality standards are observed, enhanced and best practice is shared  Ability to fulfil all requirements of the job description Personal Attributes  General appearance: smart and able to command respect  Evidence of a good attendance record  Ability to work as a team member  Sensitivity to the needs of colleagues, young people and the community  By negotiation be able to work evening and weekends.  Degree in agreed specialism  QTLS, PGCE qualified Person Specification

22 Plymouth Argyle Football Club Community Cohesion Officer Argyle Community Trust is looking to recruit a Community Cohesion Officer. The position is a dual role working with Plymouth City Council ’ s Sports Development Unit on an estates based project and working on other Community Trust projects and initiatives. The position will be based in Plymouth, however at times you may need to work outside the city boundary dependent on the demands of the programmes. The candidate will be expected to work evenings and weekends and have an understanding of young people ’ s needs. The candidate must have good, in-depth knowledge of Community Cohesion programmes, good at partnership working with an understanding of estates based projects, youth services and Youth offending teams and also the ability to control challenging groups and individuals. Experience of football and multi-sports coaching in a wide range of settings, including youth centres, estates, sports centres and in varied community work for young people aged 7 - 19 years old is essential. We would also expect the candidate to have a number of other sports coaching qualifications and be computer literate. The candidate must have a good understanding of the Government ’ s National Citizen Service programme and be able to lead a number of residential camps and social action projects within the role. An understanding of volunteering and organizing competitions and events is required.

23 Job Description: Community Cohesion Officer Hours: 40 hours per week; evenings and weekend work are a requirement of the post Salary: Responsible to: Social Inclusion Manager Key duties will be: To promote the Community Trust business, grow and sustain activities in Devon and Cornwall, in accordance with the Social Inclusion Business Plan: Promote StreetGames and the activities it offers across Plymouth To deliver inclusion sessions on estate based programmes and other such events within Plymouth. Manage causal staff on a day to day basis Delivery of multisport and Premier League 4 Sport programmes Develop and lead on NEETS and employment programmes Assist manager in recruitment and delivery for NCS programmes Completion of NCS monitoring and evaluation To develop new and innovative projects designed to improve community cohesion and relations with across Plymouth and Cornwall Create competitions and matchdays for cohesion programmes Develop a volunteer programme for young people Deliver on matchday activities at the football club Attend promotional events for the Community Trust Attend steering group meetings Build community relations with various partners (new and existing) To meet key performance indicators To maintain and organise all equipment Completion of reviews and session evaluations Ensure all participants records and programmes are input and kept in accordance with Data Protection laws Complete office and administrative duties To oversee staff qualifications which includes first aid, child protection and DBS
